Stacey has been rocking the Pure Haven side hustle while homeschooling her two kids. I asked Stacey how she does it.
What’s your side hustle?
I’m a Pure Haven Independent Consultant.
How did you get into this particular side hustle?
I have been an enthusiastic Pure Haven customer for over four years. This past May, I signed up as a consultant to get wholesale pricing and expected to sell it casually to a few friends and family.
Growing my Pure Haven business has been a huge gift of grace: It gives me something to focus on and enjoy and it provides me with the chance to be creative, purposeful, and relational. It’s meaningful to educate others about the importance of going non-toxic for the good of their bodies (and their family’s) and the environment. I am so thankful for Pure Haven and love sharing the products and the business with others!
How long have you been doing this side hustle?
Since May 2020.
Talk about getting started – startup costs, how long it took to start making decent money, and time commitment.
Startup kits cost as little as $99 and consultants earn 30% commission (35% on preferred customer purchases) plus host rewards for orders not submitted through a party.
Most of my customers have been enthusiastic about the products. Since the products are consumable, many customers reorder (on average every 1-4 months).
By month four, I also hit Ambassador level, which meant that I make $600-800/month (plus more free products that my family and I can use). Within my first four months with Pure Haven, I also earned an all-expenses-paid trip to Jamaica!
My team offers tools and trainings to support my work, and I also appreciate the community of support and friendship that it provides. The company often offers extra incentives that are fun motivators for doing what I need to do to grow my business anyways.
During Covid, I have hosted outdoor, distanced gatherings during the warmer months and now I am doing Zoom and Facebook gatherings. My team regularly has Facebook parties as well that I can just invite my guests to (meaning that I don’t have to do any work other than inviting, engaging, and following up).
The amount of time that people put in varies. Many people just spend a few hours a week on it. I tend to do a bit more but that’s just because I am having so much fun doing this!
Do your kids help you with this side hustle?
My kids cheer me on and help by sampling the products. They sometimes go with me when I drop off samples or orders to customers. They also help me set up for gatherings or special events.
What are the pros of this side hustle?

What are the cons of this side hustle?
- No shipping outside of the United States.
- It has taken some patience for my business to develop, but it is happening!
How do you juggle homeschooling and this side hustle?
I fit it in where I have time. And the work that I need to do for Pure Haven is interruptible so I can do it while my kids are focusing on a task for school, recognizing that I will be interrupted before completing my tasks. I just come back to it when I can.
How long have you been homeschooling? What homeschool curriculum do you use?
My kids are in grades 2 and 4. This is our first year homeschooling. We primarily use Zearn and K12.
Would you recommend this particular side hustle?
I LOVE Pure Haven and would love to help others get started! It’s a great company and my business is growing quickly! It has connected me to a great community of women and offered me opportunities for development, training, and traveling!
